From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya: A Biographical History of Christian Missions

Ruth Tucker exhibits the spiritual discernment one expects in this late Laodicean Age of the church: lukewarm!
I was amazed to read what Tucker considered “missions”, especially concerning the harlot church of Rome.
Better title would be: The Mess Man Makes With Religion
This book has very little to do with real Biblical missions.

This is a great book for anyone wanting to read about the biographical history of missions. Tucker does a great job of covering all areas in a concise manner. A great bibliography gives the reader further research options if necessary. This book is also written to be a very interesting read. That cannot be said about all history books.

This is a wonderful resource that covers many major movements in Christian missions through thoughtful biographical sketches of the lives of pioneer missionaries. This is indispensable for anyone interested in the subject of how the gospel had spread and in formulating strategies to meet the current needs in our world today.
