I was invited by the Scout Association to a reception for her. When
introduced to her I was about to mention that she had visited my family in 1931
when I was a child and commenced giving her my maiden name - Anne Snow. She
interrupted me and said: "Then you are Charles and Una Snow's daughter and I
remember visiting your lovely home overlooking the sea. I also remember that
enormous room filled with Scouters and Guiders, all sitting on the floor and we
talked and talked".
Just imagine all the places in the world that she has visited in the
intervening years, and all the people she had met, and yet she recalled without
any hesitation, that one occasion. What a truly amazing memory she had!
